In Your Face Beauty and Glamour from Choleil

Welcome TD-addicts! If you’ve noticed, we’ve been featuring a whole lot more designer phone cases lately. It’s our little way of promoting and supporting artists from all parts of the planet. We’ve been working with them to create unique sets of pretty phone cases every lad and lady can (and should) enjoy!

Since this will be a fairly regular thing, this blog series will compile quick Q and A’s from the artists whose collections appear on the site. We want you to get to know them. Find out their inspirations and even why they do what they do!

So, without further ado, let’s meet these wonderful, creative minds, shall we?

Soleil Ignacio (also known as Choleil) delivers beauty and fashion with a line, a flourish and a helping of punchy colour! She’s one badass illustrator-gal with a fascination for big haired women, sexy smoky eyes and stunning fingers.

With such vibrant and edgy works, it’s no surprise she’s been tapped by high-profile clients like Tony Burch, Louis Vuitton, NYLON Magazine Singapore and Keds to name a few.

Of course, working with her for us was a no-brainer. We only want you to have the best. As a treat, Soleil has handpicked several of her best fashion illustrations for our awesome phone cases. The result? A good helping of fashion awesomeness this side of The Dairy universe!

If you want to get to know her more, check out our little chat session below:

What got you into art?
When I was a kid I was obsessed with The Little Mermaid and Barbie.

When did you realise you wanted to be a full time artist?
I think not until I went to art school! I wasn’t actually supposed to take up Visual Communication, I wanted to take up Interior Design, but then my mom pushed me into taking the former. So the rest is history! And I’m thankful for her pushing me that way.

Describe your art style in three words.
Edgy, Feminine, Fresh

Do you have favourite colours or themes you like to work with?
Yes! I always tend to revolve around Magenta/Peach/Teal

What's the coolest place you've seen your work (eg. have you ever designed for a magazine, or a cool advertisement?)?
Printed on a huge billboard!

Do you have any favourite pieces from your collaboration with The Dairy? If so, why? :)
Would it be too much if I said all of them? Haha! I especially chose these designs for The Dairy!

Isn’t she fantastic?

Check out the collaborations here.
